Hydroxychloroquine not effective in preventing COVID-19 in people exposed to virus, new Canadian-led study finds

Hydroxychloroquine – a drug traditionally used to treat arthritis and that has been touted by some, as a COVID-19 drug – has been found not effective in preventing the disease in people exposed to the virus that causes it. This new Canadian study was led by the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in Montreal with collaboration from researchers from the University of Manitoba, the University of Alberta and the University of Minnesota.
