The Multiple Myeloma Support Group of Ottawa is a patient-managed and patient-centered group that provides information to newly diagnosed patients as well as a circle of mutual support from those who are further along in their journey with myeloma. From patients, caregivers, family and friends we learn how to live with this disease. The purpose of the group is to break isolation, provide mutual support and share information. The support group meets between 6 and 8 p.m. on the following dates: • January 24, 2012 • March 27, 2012 • May 22, 2012 • September 25, 2012 • November 27, 2012 Location: The Alta Vista Manor 751 Peter Morand Cres. Sault Ste Marie
The Sault Ste Marie & Area Multiple Myeloma Support Group invites you to attend our meetings held on the first Sunday of every month (except the summer months) between 2 p.m. & 4 p.m. upstairs at: Romes Independent Grocer on Great Northern Road. The meeting is open to patients, caregivers or anyone wanting information on Multiple Myeloma. You will be able to talk to other patients and caregivers and find out what you can expect from people who have already gone through most of the different treatments. We meet in the upstairs conference room/kitchen area or in the Coffee Shop area. Just ask the ladies at the coffee shop where we are seated if the conference room is being used by someone else. Toronto
The Toronto & District Multiple Myeloma Support Group is composed of multiple myeloma survivors and their primary caregivers and grew out of a need for information and mutual support in dealing with this unusual disease. We have members from across the Greater Toronto area. We invite you to join us as we share support, comfort, information and friendship. The purpose of the group is to explore and discuss the wide range of treatment options and to give myeloma survivors and their loved ones the support and information they need to live longer, stronger lives. In recent years there have been improvements in treatments. We have guest speakers to help educate and increase understanding of topics such as clinical trials, new treatments and coping strategies. In 2012, the group meets from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on the following dates: February 4th April 14th June 2nd August 4th October 6th December 1st The meeting location is the Jubilee United Church, 40 Underhill Drive, North York, Ontario. Please enter the church by the north door. How to Get There: Driving: Take the Don Valley Parkway (north or south,) exit east on Lawrence Ave. East. Turn north (left) at the first intersection, which is Underhill Drive and continue north two blocks to the church on the left hand side. There is ample free parking available. Public Transportation: Take the Lawrence Ave. East bus (Route #54) from the Yonge and Eglinton subway station. Exit the bus at Underhill Drive and walk two blocks north to the church. Or take the Woodbine 91C bus from the Woodbine Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. This bus goes up Underhill Drive past the church.
Each Meeting has a three part agenda. • First, there is usually a guest speaker invited to address different aspects of care and treatment options and answer questions from the group. • Second, we have a brief break with refreshments and informal networking. • Third, Time permitting, we continue with a discussion group and cover topics of individual interest. Educational material on myeloma and treatment options, group newsletters and DVD’s are available at each meeting for attendees. If multiple myeloma is affecting your life, you do not have to feel alone. There are others in the Windsor area making the same journey. We invite you to join us as we share support, comfort, information and friendship. The journey is made easier by the company we keep.
